The 8D Association is dedicated to promoting the history of the railways of South Lancashire, Merseyside and North Cheshire.

The St Helens & Runcorn Gap Railway (Farnworth & Bold to Union Bank Farm) – Thursday 2nd of July 2011.

The Association members enjoyed a walk from Farnworth and Bold to Union Bank Farm Halt passing the impressive 5 arches bridge.

The Halton Curve ‘Ghost Train’ trip – Saturday 6th of August 2011.

On Saturday the 6th of August 2011 ten members of 8D travelled on the 07:53 Summer Saturdays Only Chester to Runcorn service that travels over the little used Halton Curve. The curve connects the Warrington and Chester with the Ditton Junction to Weaver Junction line.
